Toenail reconstruction is a great option or intervention for someone who has experienced visible trauma to a nail. It could be damaged in some way, discoloured or misshapen, and or is partially missing, or has a fungal nail infection. Unsightly nails can sometimes embarrass or bother people, so the possibility of having a nail reconstruction treatment is a very simple non-permanent solution.

The Onyfix toenail correction system is a simple non-invasive treatment where a composite in the form of a thin band is applied and fixed to the base of the nail. This, over time, works by retraining the nail’s growth back to its natural shape. One or two further treatments would be required for us to review the process and fit an additional band as the nail continues to grow. The whole process causes zero tension to the nail and leaves you with a natural nail shape that no long causes pain or discomfort. Fungal nail is caused by infection to the nail bed, which then eats its way into the keratin of the nail causing it to discolour, thicken, crumble and eventually lift from the nail bed. Many topical treatments are ineffective as they are unable to truly penetrate the nail plate to reach the active infection on the skin under the nail. Fenestration of the nail is a pain free, safe treatment that involves making micro holes in the nail plate, which allows for a much more effective application of an anti-fungal agent to be absorbed down into the nail and through to the nail bed. It’s an on-going treatment, and daily, diligent application of the anti-fungal agent over a period of time, is essential to enable the treatment to work effectively and kill off the infection.
This treatment is more appropriate for mild to moderate fungal nail infections. It begins with an assessment and preparation of the nail. The drilling process is swift and painless.

Cancellation Policy
Appointments are booked for you at a time that is mutually agreed.
If for any reason you are unable to keep your appointment or need to cancel or change it, if possible, please allow 48 hours notice to avoid a cancellation fee.
Timely cancellations enable us to offer an appointment to someone else.
For appointments cancelled:
48 hours to 24 hours prior notice, a 50% fee will be requested.
Less than 24 hours prior notice or no show, a 100% cancellation fee will be requested.
